Judah says he was contacted by Golden Boy Promotions about Maidana bout

It looks like Judah wants to be well paid if he’s going to be sticking his neck out against a big puncher like Maidana. You can’t really blame Judah for not wanting to take on a dangerous fighter like Maidana if he’s not going to get a big paycheck.

At 32, Judah would be facing a lot of heat if he was to step in the ring against Maidana. Judah hasn’t been all that active in the past two years. Judah has fought three times in the past two years, defeating Ernest Johnson and Ubaldo Hernandez, while losing to Joshua Clottey by a 9th round technical decision in August 2009.
Judah may be wasting time, though, if he thinks a big money fight will fall into his lap. He needs to try and stay marketable by continuing to take on good fighters. It can’t help him to be fighting obscure fighters at his age.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer recently mentioned Judah’s name as a potential future opponent for Amir Khan, should Khan get by his next fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. However, if Golden Boy Promotions wants Judah for a fight against Khan, they’ll have to pay him well from the looks of it. A Khan-Judah fight would likely be a fairly popular one, especially if Khan is able to get by Marquez in his next fight.
